Was she actually holding off on divorce on the basis of something she heard at church?

it's not 'something she heard at church', it wasn't a rumour she overheard. It's a foundation of marriage in Catholicism. Marriage is for life, Divorce is a sin.

Even now they cannot remarry in a church because the church does not recognise their divorce.

Did she seek pastoral help from her priest?

Yes, the Catholic church is certainly pretty radical on certain things. I'm glad that I'm not part of it.

No, but it would've meant that if her priest wasn't a demented piece of human waste, that he would've told her to get the hell out of the marriage and she will be forgiven via him in confession.

which I'm ignoring. If you have any questions you ask them here, then you can wait in anticipation to see if I'm gracious enough to respond. Discussions evolve. Pretending otherwise will merely add to your already long list of deluded fantasies.

One reason I stopped watching the 7.30 Report: Leigh Sales has no interviewing ability, just goes through her list of questions/gotchas regardless of fascinating hint of information on a slightly off topic subject. She is also WAY too obviously a Liberal Party supporter.

She is also WAY too obviously a Liberal Party supporter.

A fascinating hint is where a guest, you know, hints that he has some REALLY interesting information if not exactly about the subject they are discussing.

What papal decree are you referring to exactly? And how is a priest granting someone forgiveness overriding this papal decree?

are you under the impression that the catholic church gives you a choice? It does NOT recognise divorce. Not now, not ever. No matter your excuse.

They don't NEED to recognise divorce in order to FORGIVE the person for committing the sin!
You don't seem to understand that Priests do NOT tell women to continue to allow themselves to get the shit beaten out of them by their husbands!
