On your bikes.

So it is really simple, OK?

Let me put it this way.

It is a matter for the woman.

For all your opinions...It is nothing to do with you .

Did you make sensible responses?

What does it have to do with you if you are a male?

It doesn't have anything to do with me. Do people who kill their BORN children have anything to do with you? I look forward to your response.

Nice dodge! Obviously you wouldn't say that parents can kill their born kid. And pro lifers make no distinction between the born and the unborn.

Not only are you being irrelevant, you are being nasty about it. Enough.

Pull your head in.... your opinion has been offered, and replied to.

What the hell did I say that was "nasty?" Or do you just consider any argument which you can't refute to be "nasty?"

If you cannot produce some cogent argument why abortion should be a criminal offence I will lock then archive this thread. Sick of the round and round and round again of the same bullshit arguments.

Might need a couple of days.

He can start a fresh thread then if he wishes—emphasis on fresh.

As an idea, post the parts of the Bill you don’t like, we can work through the areas.

It shouldn't be a criminal offense for the woman to have an abortion but it should be a criminal offense for a doctor to provide one.

What the hell would that achieve exactly? It would only result in you threatening to lock it again after failing miserably to counter my arguments!

Dude, I already did that! Did you miss it? Here it is YET again:

I will re-post what I posted on page 1 of this thread:

1. The bill purports to make abortion a ‘health issue’ yet effectively treats abortion as a matter of lifestyle preference, by making it an elective procedure, available on request, without requiring any health or medical reason;
2. The bill makes abortions lawful for any reason, including discriminatory reasons such as disability or sex selection;
3. The bill permits late-term abortions, including abortions of viable babies up until full term;

There are also two things that it's NOT doing. Two things that it doesn't protect:

4. The bill has no protection against coercion, making women even more vulnerable to pressure from their partners, family, or others;
5. The bill does not protect women against incompetent or unscrupulous medical practitioners.

If proponents of this bill were serious about protecting the interests of women, then surely they would demand that it includes a criminal offence for coercing a woman into having an abortion – one of the worst forms of domestic violence that can be perpetrated against a woman. How will prosecutorial action be taken against someone who is coercing a woman into having an abortion if it’s not in the Crimes Act?

I am totally in favour of decriminalising abortion to the extent that women should not be prosecuted for having an illegal abortion, although to my knowledge this never happens. I’ve certainly never heard of such a case. For this reason, removal of abortion from the Crimes Act would seem to be just purely symbolic.

That is not part of the Bill.

Abortion should be legal and available to any woman who wants one.

What makes you say that? Have you read the bill? Are you seriously under the impression that all it does is remove abortion from the crimes act? It doesn't change the rules and regulations surrounding how abortions are done?
