Hey ..mid-term elections are happening right now in the US. I must confess it seems a strange set-up … basically your politicians get to have a party every 2 years, even tho the Major election is for 4 yrs. Party-time.

Young is a relative term. I'm 51 and will become a grandfather in January. I was born in January 1967.

House of Representatives - 2 years
Senate - 6 years
President - 4 years

I first became a grampa in 2011. Best thing ever. Congrats in advance, Texan. You're gonna love this. :bgrin

yes, I've heard it's better than being a dad even

mostly because you get to send them back home :roll

Yes. All the pleasure, none of the headaches.

I just wish she didn’t live so far away. I’ll be 7 hours from my granddaughter.

I drive about 130 km/hr and if I take my work truck, the gas is free. Speed limit is 120 km/hr most of the way. I don't think a Cessna would be much improvement unless I did my own maintenance. I do have a history of maintaining aircraft, but I've never flown one.

I wasn’t serious. I have a 725Km drive coming up in April, Adelaide to Melbourne, get on the ferry, drive off in Devonport, Tasmania, the next morning, then all that in reverse 2 weeks later.

First time I went there my niece and her daughter came along and we shared the driving. More better.

Seems to be a US thing. My lot have never moved too far away. All within an hour's drive. One of my golf mates would kill to be in the same position as you both are in. Long and hilarious story. :bgrin

My son is in the military and is stationed in Wichita, KS. I’m lucky he’s that close. His wife was a military brat and grew up in Italy.

When people describe me, they usually say I'm bigger than Texas and twice as ugly. :purple

Most of Texas is beautiful. You must look like downtown Dallas.
